In Which My Overconfidence is Showing
I have found that a great way to while away the hours without finding any real joy in life is to take classes in University College at Wash U. I keep kicking around ideas like registering for a doctoral program (like the semi-useless but relatively costly Doctorate in Public Policy Analysis at SLU), or going back for another bachelor's degree (slightly more seriously, a BS in Economics at WU, which would cost me very little).
But I also like taking courses for no real reason at all. Kirsten suggested taking either Swedish or Russian, both of which actually sounded interesting. We both saw a class in glassblowing - anyone who knows anything about West Virginia knows that glassblowing is, in fact, a big part of our heritage.
And, of course, there are your standard classes in math, bio, physics, whatever. Been there, done that, got the sheepskin.
So I kicked around a few classes and settled on two which look fairly interesting - Real Estate Investing and Social Media.
Given that I joined Facebook when it was still called "The Facebook" (no, seriously, "posting on The Facebook" did not just used to be something that George W. Bush would say), I think I'm gonna be OK in this class.
Here's hoping that old saw about pride and falls and comething and whatnot is not reallly true.
